Student Counselling

The school counselling unit strives to meet and address children’s academic, social and emotional needs to support the school’s mission and help students to meet the challenges of the future.

Students at SBA are able to meet one-on-one with the school counsellor to discuss issues that are affecting their academic success and issues regarding their social and emotional needs. The counsellor has a continuous overt observation on every child during the value education period and covert observation during class visits.

Sarala Birla Academy is an inclusive school with a three-member SEN unit. The school is able to make provisions for students with mild to moderate learning difficulties. Collaborative planning between SEN staff and class/subject teachers in designing units of work, co-teaching and implementing strategies that support the students enables equal access to the curriculum for all students.

Students with significant learning difficulties are identified from grade- 5 onwards and supported with special remedial classes. Additional services like educational and psychological assessments are also done to provide suitable accommodations during main examinations.
